The family-owned and operated business started out in the home
kitchens of Chevalier, his mother, Pauline, and his mother-in-law,
Gertrude Sims. But God’s favor and positive word-of-mouth have
moved the business from their homes to a state-of-the-art,
professional kitchen with all of the tools necessary to juggle
everything from intimate gatherings to large banquets and
weddings.
A Taste of Catering®
has handled several events for the City of Houston and received
many awards, including a minority business contract for the Super
Bowl, the NBA All-Star games in Houston and a letter of
commendation from current Houston Mayor Bill White.
In addition to serving great meals for Mayor White and political
leaders Gordon Quan and Chris Bell, the company has also been
honored to serve other prominent clients, such as former Houston
Mayor Lee P. Brown, international evangelists Drs. I.V. and
Bridget Hilliard, founders of the New Light Christian
Center
Church, and Florida television personality Jeannie Blaylock.
Besides catering city-sponsored events, weddings, luncheons for
Fortune 500 companies, national religious conferences and parties,
Chevalier still works full-time for American Airlines. The
day-to-day operations of
A Taste of Catering®
are carried out by family and dedicated staff members.
Chevalier was recently awarded the 2006 Employee of the Year Award
for American Airlines and the Outstanding Service Award for Our
Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, one of the city’s most historic
parishes. During the holiday season,
A Taste of Catering®
also works tirelessly in the community feeding the hungry and
partnering with other service organizations to help the needy.
Next to his faith in God, Chevalier credits his wife, Linda, his
two children, Justin and Courtney, his mother, sister and
mother-in-law with helping make
A Taste of Catering®
a dream come true.
